- Neutrals spread over seasonal categories
- Off-whites and browns made the biggest statement
- Gray, which was hot for Christmas five years ago, hinted at a comeback
- Green/yellow, a past spring duo, tried it again
- Mixed blues, joined by pale peach, caught the eye in seaside themes
- Dark plum looked amazing in emerging décor products
MATERIALS AND TEXTURES
- Grapevine appeared again for Christmas
- So did foil-wrapped metallic looks
- Reclaimed, thin styrofoam created the newest springtime texture
- Rustic looks for galvanized metal declined dramatically
- Small-scale beaded textures made items like eggs and rabbits interesting
- Reverse-painted glass, fiberglass and mirror debuted
MOTIFS AND THEMES
- Fonts for everything got super thin
- Pigs got more play
- Sheep did, too
- Non-committal messages showed up with icons like hearts
- Decorative folk-art looks emerged
- Asian design elements pushed ahead more than they have in years
