It’s hard to believe that I am back in Germany for the third time in four weeks. But why should it be? The European trade fairs that our subscribers at The Trend Curve want us to cover always include three big events organized by Messe Frankfurt that follow one another closely in January and February. And I love to attend them, no matter how sore my feet get and how confused my body feels about which time zone I am really in.
Heimtextil launches the season with an event focused on home textiles, wallcoverings, window coverings and the like. Our CD-ROM trend report, called Trend Album: Heimtextil 2007 has already been released. It includes bullet point trend observations about color, materials and motifs, plus more than 100 images to show you the trends.
Christmas World was next with products of all kinds for the Holidays. Our Trend Album from that fair is formatted just like the one from Heimtextil. It is due to ship on the 15th of February (subscribers can still pre-order by emailing Janice or Cathy). My assistant, Laura, and I are currently working on our color forecast for Christmas called ‘Tis The Season. I know already that this paint-on-paper color forecast will be inspired in part by what we saw at Christmas World, but it goes way beyond CW for a take on Holiday color and trend that only The Trend Curve’s experienced perspective can provide. Subscribers can pre-order this product, too, with Janice or Cathy. We estimate a ship date of 4/1 for ‘Tis The Season color.
Ambiente is the final event and the reason I am in Frankfurt once again today.
As usual, I did not sleep more than half an hour on the plane over so I am a bit groggy, even though I napped for a couple of hours after I got into my room. But I will be rested and ready to go tomorrow morning. I plan to spend all day looking at tabletop products.
Since our subscribers have asked for the fasted possible update from this fair, I will send our Trend Flash email at the end of the day tomorrow, which means subscribers should see it in their incoming email messages in the early afternoon.
If you are not a subscriber to The Trend Curve, you may not know about Trend Flash. We push topline trends on a variety of topics including color, materials, themes, textures, motifs — whatever is important at that event — from every market and trade fair we attend all year long. That means we email 20 – 30 Trend Flash updates every year. Of course, we follow up with much more detail in the next issue of The Trend Curve, but this subscriber-only benefit gives The Trend Curve family an edge on the latest trends so they can apply them to their assortments quickly.
By the way, our subscribers also receive lower pricing on every product we produce, like the Trend Album trend reports from Heimtextil, Christmas World and Ambiente, plus Maison & Objet in Paris. If you are interested in receiving a sample issue of The Trend Curve or subscribing to this six-times-per-year newsletter. you can visit our web site, click on the Trend Store link and purchase on-line.
