I think I have ceased being a human and have instead become a pack animal. At least that’s how I felt by the end of my first day at the Heimtextil trade fair in Frankfurt, Germany. I had four bags of catalogs, color cards and CD-ROM’s over my shoulder as I walked the six blocks back to the hotel at 6pm — and that was from just three buildings. I will be back at the fair tomorrow, trend-spotting, taking lots of pictures and blogging again in the evening.
As usual, we will create a CD-ROM trend report from this fair. I will have lots of images and trends to choose from when we put our Trend Album ™ Heimtextil 2007 together! The color updates alone will fill at least 10 pages, I feel sure. The design details section will also be extensive. There is more change at this year’s Heimtextil than I have seen in years. That applies to fabrics, embellishments, patterns and themes. If you are interesting in pre-ordering our Trend Album from Heimtextil, just email Janice@TrendCurve.com for pricing and the anticipated ship date.
One of the details I couldn’t help but notice today was the amount of crochet still in the market. While knits appear to have backed off, crochet is still going strong. Chenab Limited showed it in White over a Chocolate ground and Kohinoor showed theirs in White on White, with Lurex threads in the border. So pristine!
But I think my favorite take on crochet came from Zoeppritz. Their crochet flowers had multi-colored yarn and lots of charm appliqued on a textured Black and White stripe reminiscent of ticking. This is a must-see if you are in Frankfurt (Hall 9.1).
