Some companies are thrilled to have a member of the international press visit their stand at Heimtextil. Others are suspicious. That’s because there are some people who manage to secure press credentials but are not really writing about or reporting on the fair. They are the ones that make it hard for the legitimate press to do their jobs.
At the January event, there were only a couple of companies who did not want me to take pictures or notes. Two of them said they would contact me later. That generally means they will throw my card into the round file and I will never hear from them again. So I was delighted to get emails from both of them this week.
Van Neder was the first to contact me. This company makes velvets. Their cut looks were real showstoppers this time because of the modern patterns and colors they used. I think these designs have real potential. They sent me the picture above.
KAS is an Australian maker of bed linens, throw pillows and the like. Their Pink satin bed cover with giant pleating was one of the most delightful pieces at the fair. I will have a shot of this in our Trend Album™: Heimtextil 2006 CD-ROM trend report.
You can pre-order our Heimtextil trend report from Cathy De Bono any time for shipment beginning on Wednesday, January 25.
