I love clever new product responses to simple needs. Like using loose tea leaves. My favorite tea infuser right now is called The Teastick, from Gamila Company. They designed the most elegant solution for loose tea that I have ever seen. And it’s made of BPA free material.
I use a Blue version from the Gems collection at home, but I gave both Blue and Red versions to every one of my sisters for Christmas (all 6 of them are also tea lovers). Each of them is wowed by the sophisticated shape. And they love the fact that the fine-metal mesh on this infuser won’t let little tea flakes to get into your cup.
I saw another product at Ambiente in Frankfurt, Germany that drew me to if for a different kind of color—brights. Dreamfarm’s Teafu silicone tea infusers come in five bright hues, and are attached to a handle that can also squeeze the excess water out of the leaves when have brewed your cup. The design is clever, rather than elegant, and I liked it.
I’ll talk about not just brights, but all the color stories, plus pattern, form and design trends at the Ambiente trade fair in a new trend report. Subscribers to The Trend Curve can preorder Trend Album™ Ambiente 2010 at a special price by emailing Janice. Non-subscribers will need to wait until the general release date to see bullet-point trend observations and over 100 images from Ambiente.
