Trends for All of Fall 2017

September 14, 2016 By Janice Carlson -

4sheascroppeddsc02948smType “trends for fall 2017” into a search engine and you’ll see a myriad of autumn apparel. If you’re lucky, your results might include The Trend Curve’s latest Haute Halloween and Fall forecast. Overall, however, the direction out there about fall décor is a gray zone with very little new information available each year. That’s why our autumn color and trend forecast has stood out as a bestseller ever since The Trend Curve launched the first edition in 2009, with trends for Fall 2011!

But don’t let the name Haute Halloween and Fall fool you! Our autumn forecasts are not just about Halloween. They also cover Thanksgiving and the gorgeous season of fall in general. It’s the time of year most Americans claim is their favorite, so it’s wise to help your customers celebrate it with assortments that reflect just the right combination of trendy and traditional choices.

On the trendy side for 2017 is our Harvest Hoedown theme. It’s a showcase not only for the farm-to-table lifestyle, but also for the traditional scarecrow. With roots going back before 2,500 B.C., today’s scarecrows may not look much like their net-covered ancestors from Egypt, but they still do a long summer’s work in modern crop fields. Our new slant on this old favorite is to finally consider how female scarecrows should be dressed and how to make harvest celebrations as festive, yet natural, as possible.

On the traditional side for 2017 is our Thanks and Giving trend for the fourth Thursday in November. Autumn canning of such fall fruits as crab apples, cranberries and figs, as well as frosted cookies shaped like turkeys, pumpkins and squirrels extend the Thanksgiving spirit beyond family to friends and neighbors—while also influencing home décor.

All of this to say that, if you’re seeking new looks for fall—for developing retail assortments or for visual display—you’ve come to the right place! As pioneers in the realm of autumn color and décor trends, Haute Halloween and Fall from The Trend Curve will always inspire your creativity and help you make the most of your customers’ favorite season.
