Greens have had a big growth spurt over the past year or so. While we expect that to slow a bit by fall of 2016, green will remain an important—and volume selling—color family moving into 2017.
In 2014 and 2015, cool greens have been what’s fresh. As we move into 2016, watch for the yellow side of green to push ahead. Pastel pistachio, an emerging color this season, is forecasted to give way to a warmer mid-tone by the time fall 2016 arrives. Parrot green, which will become more obvious in the spring of next year, will strengthen throughout 2017, reinforced by a growing tropical trend that favors dark-and-lush greens.
Olive returns for the fall-winter season of 2016 in personalities that look drier and more complex than those of the past. Dark green will deepen even more as 2017 begins. The market is nowhere near finished with its dark-green revival.
