After many seasons of minimalism, details and decorations have begun reappearing on all kinds of home-interiors products. At the recent High Point furniture market, the high end was paying more attention to fringe than they have in years. This went beyond the brush fringe that has been emerging for about six months, and continues to build in a range of price points. In a next step for embellishments, ball fringe, bullion fringe and even chainmail fringe have entered the picture.
These details are all part of a larger trend toward MORE that has be gathering momentum. That means more texture, more pattern, more shape, more mixed media and definitely more embellishments. The Trend Curve forecasts that the quest for more will accelerate as a driving force in décor through 2017.
