New Looks for Stripes

January 1, 2016 By Michelle Lamb -

The Trend Curve has already put Members of our subscriber family on alert for a stripe revival. In our forecast, we have indicated that thin widths will be the best growth engine for new stripes. This trend will be visible later in 2016, and will accelerate into 2017.

But those thin stripes will not necessarily look like stripes from the past. That’s because a host of new features will make the stripes of the future far more interesting than any stripes the market has seen in the past. Think about intricate textures, complicated weaves, interesting pattern fills, colorful gradients and unexpected interruptions.

Here are a few stripes with updated personalities that debuted at Showtime, the decorative-fabrics market, in High Point.
