On-trend in Atlanta:
COLOR
– Pink got noticed: electric, deep, bright and notable rose
– Turquoise solids looked intense
– Batik blue, with its inherent color variations, set stage for transitional patterns
– Emerald green tentatively poked out its head
– Black and white looked snappy in geometrics and wovens
– Sari-inspired pink, turquoise, yellow, red, green set accent tones
TEXTURE AND MATERIALS
– Texture trumped all, regardless of construction
– Sweater-like effects added status
– Shags refused to die, evolving instead into patterned affairs
– Silky looks advanced in all price points
– Jute caught the eye in exaggerated mega-weaves
– Linear felt accented flat-weave styles
PATTERN AND MOTIF
– Regimented, medium-scale clean geometrics were hot
– So were tile and Greek key repeats
– Damasks got a purposefully decomposed and organic makeover
– Countertrend: multi-textured stripes with a tribal twist
– Transitional style was the dominant growth area
– Packed, over the top, florals became more evident (think Versace)
