- Airy weaves advanced for seating
- Fully upholstered looks got a foothold
- Urban scale and utility demanded more resources
- Day beds were new for multiple companies
- Sectional growth was unstoppable
COLOR
- Sophisticated oranges, especially in mid-tone values, got more attention
- Denim-influenced blues hinted at a larger role to come
- Peacock stepped up
- Eucalyptus and olive updated the green family
- Hues like honey and butterscotch popped up too often to ignore
- Gray, while still growing, was not a trend
TEXTURE AND MATERIALS
- Options for texture exploded
- Faux bois patterns/textures appeared on metal, porcelain and hard synthetic materials
- Mixed-media combinations became must-haves
- Porcelain table tops were said to be “in vogue”
- Durability meant more than pattern when it came to fabrics
- Fringes drew the eye
