COLOR
- Neutralized pales came on strong
- Green hues punctuated an incoming biophilia trend
- Blue was pervasive in all categories, but especially in flooring
- Orange was on-the-rise, looking best in textured textiles but also impacting furniture
- Red electrified case goods
- Butterscotch was the newest yellow, orange or brown, often used with other yellows
MATERIALS
- Wood grains (both horizontal and vertical) were used in striking applications
- Stainless steel got a new groove with color and texture
- Polyethylene shaped chairs and architectural textiles
- Reverse-painted glass was a colorful revelation in case goods
- Stylish faux leather, recycled cork added a new dynamic to acoustic wall tiles
- Copper was huge, whether as gleaming accents or finishes on tubular steel
- Incoming burnished metals added subtle glam sheen to surfaces
FINISHES
- Matte especially shone in silky black
- High gloss took on a sidekick role for contrast
- Powder-coated and anodized colors energized metal
- Metallic gold, bronze gained favor
- Textures intrigued, from groovy grains to ribbed steel and polyurethane
- Oxidation provided an artsy look
