Going Dotty

Clair de Lune by Fürstenberg

At the recent New York Tabletop market, dots were on a roll. They popped up in several glassware patterns, and also appeared in an abundance of new dinnerware designs.

Typically part of a color-on-white story, rather than a multicolored polka-dot look, they came in perfect rings (Ryder from Mikasa), splotches (Nikko‘s Waterdrop pattern), positive/negative contrast (Maxwell Williams‘ Sprinkle collection, now in black-and-white), filled-in looks (one of the Pastels patterns from Royal Doulton), metallic luster (Kate Spade for Lenox‘s Larabee Dot, now available in gold), assembled into perfect bands (Black Luxe, from Cru) or tactile relief (Iittala‘s Kastehelmi pattern).

Here are some of the best new dot patterns shown in New York.
