Halloween Inspiration

July 4, 2015 By Janice Carlson -

hh&f-2016-coverWhere do we start when it’s time to create trends for our Haute Halloween and Fall™ color-and-trend forecast? The answer is by looking at shifts in lifestyle preferences.

Just like for any other trend prediction, we’ve found that it’s not so much about how seasonal celebrations are changing, but how much our population is. That’s why our just-released Haute Halloween and Fall 2016 forecast focuses upon Millennial parties (with our Enchanted Evening trend), the growing popularity of Mexico’s Day of the Dead (our Queen de Los Muertos), and grab-and-go preferences of America’s very youngest generation (with our Sticks and Cones treats trend).

Influenced by a shift to city living, our chilling Urban Decay trend takes today’s downtown landscapes and turns them into a magical Halloween night. And a youthful preference for gore and mayhem makes all hell break loose with our Bedeviled trend!

The Trend Curve looks beyond what popular culture dictates today to find tomorrow’s palette preferences. So, while many may believe that orange is the new black, when it comes to Fall 2016, black will still be black, but its best new companion will actually be yellow! And, far from the predictable black-and-orange combinations, Halloween 2016 will highlight a lot of new uses for a range of expertly chosen reds, blues and greens that will have larger roles going forward.

Our Salem 1692 trend is firmly rooted in early Colonial styling, capturing America’s initial bout with witchcraft scares. By contrast, celebrating Thanksgiving has come to include the 21st-Century glow of a televised football game, so our Turkey & Touchdowns trend is an absolute must for capturing today’s Thanksgiving norm.

These are just some of the 2016 themes that The Trend Curve has developed to help you create innovative autumn assortments.  See for yourself why you shouldn’t head into nature’s most colorful season without the 11 exciting trends and 32 colors in Haute Halloween and Fall 2016!

WHO USES THIS FORECAST: The new 2016 version of Haute Halloween and Fall is right for those who are selecting or developing retail assortments for next year. It is also perfect for those who are creating visual displays for this important selling season.

WHEN TO BUY AND USE IT: If you are developing/selecting high-end, specialty and upscale mass-market assortments for 2016, this package is what you need right now. Lower price-point seasonal assortments will be more comfortable with many of these trends in 2017.
