At the Dallas Market Center‘s Holiday & Home Expo, makers like Galt International confirmed that burlap is in decline for seasonal products. Nevertheless, there were many clever and interesting burlap products at the show. Here are a few items that gave burlap a refresh in Dallas (and a gallery of images below):
Galt’s songbirds brought this established material up-to-date with the addition of trend-forward thread-spool accents.
Burlap has been colored and printed in the past, but not with mini-prints. Allstate Floral showed an allover mini-carrot design that looked perfect on rabbits.
Transpac says pendant banners are selling particularly well, including painted burlap banners that provide an on-trend, multi-media sensibility.
Signs are also trending, whether with a single saying or a collage of words and phrases. Born In a Barn was one of several companies showing burlap versions.
Craig Bachman‘s bridal-inspired vignette included galvanized-metal pendant lights decorated with jute crochet, permanent flowers and burlap blossoms.
Collins used burlap in place of canvas for an autumnal scenic.
