Kids’ Products That Do More

For years, furniture companies have offered cribs that morph into toddler or twin beds. It helps parents justify the cost if they know their child won’t outgrow it in a year or so. At two major trade shows for kids, ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas and Kind & Jugend in Cologne, transformation took its next step.

For example, Babyhood’s a small, round crib transformed first into a larger oval crib, and ultimately into a table with two half-mood-shaped chairs. Nursery Works designed a crib that not only turns into a toddler bed, but also into a sofa. At Fisher Price, a crib with one dry-erase end and one chalkboard end became an art easel for an older child.
