London Looks for Christmas

December 9, 2005 By Michelle Lamb -

London is one of my favorite places on the planet, so when The Trend Curve™ decided to include London in our look at Christmas décor from Europe I was happy to have another reason to visit.

After my arrival from Hamburg this morning, five or six London stores were on my list to see today and I made it to every one of them. They were not equally involved in the Holiday spirit, at least from a trim-a-tree standpoint. While retailers like Liberty of London and John Lewis devoted extensive spaceto the category, others did not. Still, places like HarveyNichols fit a lot of looks and items into a very small area that was well worth the visit. Today’s favorite items:

– Anything made from feathers. That included trees, covered ornaments, clearornaments with a single feather trapped inside, wreaths, garlands and even strings oflights embellished with feathers

– Flocked candelabra of Black (the flocked part) and gold metallic

– Satin purse ornaments in Off-White and pale Pink.
