I just got an email from a member of our subscriber family. She wanted to ask my opinion about color for Valentine’s Day. Although we produce a color-and-trend forecast for Halloween/Fall (Haute Halloween & Fall™) and Christmas/Winter (‘Tis The Season™), we do not forecast Valentine’s Day as a stand-alone holiday. But I still have an opinion based on research for our Keeping Up With Kids™ color-and-trend forecast.
You can’t beat basic Red for Valentine’s Day. That said, I see Coral-influenced Pink working, and working well, for next year. It will look great with White, but it is also on-trend when accented with dusky and Denim-inspired Blues.
Here are a few pictures to help tell the Coral-Pink story. They are from our Spring 2011 version of Keeping Up With Kids. Carole D’Arconte, Editorial Correspondent for apparel and kids, wrote this report with me a few months ago.
Carole and I are in the process of finalizing a Fall 2011 version of this color-and-trend forecast right now. Subscribers to The Trend Curve can pre-order Keeping Up With Kids Fall 2011 at special savings through June 1. The preorder price will be $195 vs. $295 for members after the product’s release date in early June (non-members will pay $395).
