Versatile Concrete

September 1, 2015 By Michelle Lamb -

Furniture-by-Opiary-9As summer turns to fall, concrete stands ready to prove that it is more versatile than everyone might have expected. It can work as easily inside the house as it does in the garden.

On the table, concrete chargers update place settings in any style (trend alert: chargers are returning). In the kitchen, serving pieces with food-safe coatings become more versatile. Concrete composites make lamps, accent tables and furniture tops so much more practical—and lightweight.

Concrete appeals alone or in mixed-media combinations with metal, wood and ceramic. Other evolutions include inlaid materials, like glass or metal, and colored pigments. Although color is getting a slow start, we see it ramping up into 2017.

Check out our gallery of lovely concrete items below.
